Business organizations are on lookout for cost-effective solutions to bring down their production cost. However, sacrificing excellence for cost reduction is not a wise choice for any business entity. The challenging job for IT sector is how to maintain a balance between low cost objectives and high quality output. One of the most sought-after ways to kill the two birds with the same stone is to opt for offshore IT services.
Offshore IT Works – Derogatory to In-House Expertise?
Well, it has every making of raising storms over tea cup. Yes, there is no denying the fact that outsourcing is the catchphrase in IT platform. Even a decade ago, it was not so a riveting concept in any industry. Several strong reasons can be identified to find out why the craze has hit such a high. First of all, let us focus on some prominent differences between the developed and developing countries. It is because some underdeveloped countries are regarded as the most popular hubs for offshore IT services.
If we compare the two countries on the basis of production process and available resources, we can immediately recognize that the developing countries use labor-intensive technology due to abundance of labor. As supply for labor exceeds the demand for it, so the wage is sufficiently lower. Through outsourcing, the big IT brands want to avail these low-cost labors. However, it is not that the quality of output is poor. In fact, some developing nations like India, China have the largest reserve of the best human resource potentials. In order to avail that much excellence in house, the IT companies may have to flush out a goodly sum.
Yes, to some extent project outsourcing is creating job scope in the developing nations while doing the reverse in the developed countries. Unemployment – so far has been the biggest issue in underdeveloped nations – has infected the developed countries and offshore outsourcing companies have a fair share of responsibility in this regard. However, that is the baneful effect of outsourcing in these countries but unfortunately, is not the subject matter of our discussion.
